Field To Faith Ministries

“And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the LORD your God.” (Leviticus 23:22)

Over five decades ago, a seed was planted in the mind and heart of Rev. Elisha Barnes (Mr. Eli) as he learned in church and on the farms of Southeast Virginia. These spiritual lessons that he learned in church was applied to growing crops on the farm and vice versa. The culmination of this merger of beliefs has its foundation in Leviticus 23:22.

Rev. Eli had an inspired vision of creating a means to provide free fresh food to needy families. Rev. Eli became an ordained minister almost 29 years ago. He also became the pastor of two churches in North Carolina.

Rev. Eli has been donating truckloads of fresh vegetables, produce, sweet corn, apples, peanuts, fruit, and other vegetables to people through Field to Faith Ministries. He is the director of this nonprofit organization. This is Rev. Eli putting his faith in action. Some of the favorite items desired by people are sweet corn, peanuts, collards, cabbage, watermelons, sweet potatoes, peas, beans, and cantaloupes.
